All,
Just for your information, we've developed a short paper on the potential
application of Semantic Web technology to STEP implementation. These ideas
are far from complete but are simply meant to stimulate discussion and
consideration of what, if anything, SC4 or the implementation community
might do with in this domain. The paper is available at www.exff.org
<http://www.exff.org/> under "Papers". This paper and the bit of
implementation we've done are part of "EXPRESS for free", a larger
open-source project we've initiated with the aim of lowering the cost of
STEP implementation and of enabling the widespread use of the STEP domain
standards in other disciplines and languages.
I'll be discussing this and doing a small demonstration at the "STEP for the
Web" meeting at the ISO/SC4 meeting in Poitiers next week. The meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Comments and criticisms welcome!
Cheers,
David
