WG11,

EXPRESS/Binary will definitely meet in Valencia. The agenda will be
something like:

1) Address comments on draft specification.

2) Receive reports from implementations

  2a) Issues against draft specification

  2b) Demonstration, if possible

2c) Any available comparison of HDF5 vs. P21 vs. P28 vs. etc.

3) Based on Proof-of-concept work:

3a) Decide on whether HDF5 is suitable for CD1
3b) Decide whether an SV4-standardized API is needed for CD1

4) Conclusions and next actions

Part 25/EXPRESS/UML will also meet in Valencia. The agenda will be something
like:

0) An introduction to OMG MOF and ODM standards (if necessary)

1) Review of MOF 2 Model of EXPRESS intended for OMG standardization

1a) Demonstration of early proof-of-concept implementation

2) Update on Part 25 Edition 2 : UML 1.5 Profile for EXPRESS

3) Progress and issues in mapping of MOF 2 Model of EXPRESS and other OMG
Ontology Definition Metamodel standards

Cheers,
David

Subject: [wg11] Plans for the Valencia meeting

Can we do a bit better on announcing WG11 project meeting agendas for
the Valencia meeting (June 12-17) than we did for Lillehammer? (There
was nothing posted for Lillehammer until 10 days before the meeting.)

AFAIK, there are 3 outstanding projects:
- Part ??, Express to HDF5 mapping, for binary representation
- Part 25v2, Express v2 to UML v2 (metamodel, profile) mapping
- Part 28v2, EXPRESS to XML Schema mapping

And one unofficial project:
- MOF Metamodel of EXPRESS and mapping to the "Ontology Definition
Metamodel", as a route to RDF, OWL and/or ISO Common Logic.

Are there others?

Are any of these planning to meet in Valencia? And is there an agenda
for any of the meetings? At this point, the chief concern that may
determine people's plans to attend is *what* activities will be taking
place, not exactly *when*. And it would be nice to have that info
before we have to commit registration/hotel funds on 15 May.
