Hi everyone,
Below are the minutes from Seattle. I also uploaded these to the SC4
website as wg11n247. During the meeting, I also got the Part 12 latex
files and have posted them as wg11n248. We still need a volunteer to
put them into the ISO TR format.

Part 11 Edition 2 - status

Produced final document and signed off for publication on
2004-08-03.
Need to begin TC to fold in the E2 to E1 implementer
agreements documented in wg11n239 and SEDS #915. Decided to
abandon language identifier. Allison volunteered to reformat
the implementer agreements into the Technical Corrigendum
format.
Part 12 - published 1997-07-15
Peter Wilson has provided the Latex source for the document.
Need volunteer to put in TR format and update for the new
supplemental directives

No meeting
Updated document and circulated for a 4-week wg11 review
running from 2004-08-24 to 2004-09-22. No comments.

Reviewed proposal for UML profile for EXPRESS
Investigating getting a MOF model of EXPRESS included in OMG
Ontology Definition Metamodel that includes UML, E-R, OWL,
Topic Maps, Common Logic and others. This might replace the
idea of MOF of EXPRESS as Part 25 Edition 3
Need to update Edition 1 document to new HTML guidelines for
TS publication, and then circulate for a 4-week wg11 review
Edition 2 (UML Profile for EXPRESS) test suite EXPRESS and UML
diagrams to be published with request for testing in many UML
tools

Joint Meeting 2004-10-05, 8-12
CD ballot passed (see sc4n1768)
Several telecons plus comment resolution workshop held in
Groton CT on 2004-08-10 to 2004-08-12 Some updating done, but
editor now on leave.
Met in Seattle and reviewed all ballot comments from JP, NO,
and UK and proposed changes. Agreement reached on all but
UK-19. No obstacle to DIS
Agreements:
- Allow Express schema exchange using the STEPmod DTD
- Allow configuration language select= to use patterns
described with a subset of the Express LIKE pattern
syntax
- Additional configuration directives for namespace names
Some updating done, but the editor (Heidi) is now on leave.
The document will not get done until she gets back without a
volunteer.

NEW BUSINESS
EXPRESS-Based Binary Data Exchange ------------------------------
Met 2004-10-07, 8-12
Did evaluation of HDF-5 against matrix of features-of-interest. At
the meeting, people with experience in other possible technologies
suggested they are unsuitable (ASN.1, CGNS ASDI, etc.) Decided that
first Working Draft will be EXPRESS/HDF 5 binding
Plan on 3-day workshop before next meeting (Nov-Dec-Jan?)
Prepare PWI proposal.
EXPRESS/STEP and OWL ------------------------------
Met 2004-10-07, 1-5
Put together an EXPRESS to OWL translator and compared against a
hand-coded OWL representation of some AP-233 modules
Held 1-day tutorial at NIST on STEP and the web.
