We agreed on the following new rules for the grand challenge demonstration:
1. The fishhead will be divided into four stages (feature preparation,
interior roughing, exterior roughing, and finishing).
2. Everyone will use the same Sandvik tooling.
3. Each vendor will develop its own solutions (toolpaths) for each stage.
4. Each MTB will measure the results of machining its stage for
conformance to the tolerances defined by Boeing and Mitutoyo.
5. We will set everything up at the start of each day and not move the
parts between MTB's during the day because of the heavy foot traffic at IMTS
6. The data input for the stages will be STEP AP242. The machining will
be monitored using MTConnect. The machining results will be evaluated
using QIF.
7. The participating vendors will be connected to the digital twin hub
by the show network.
8. We will hold a meeting on the last day of the SC4 meeting in Beijing
(Friday May 25) to finalize these rules and prepare for the demonstration.
