We discussed the results of the first round of optimization. The feature
placements had to be approximated in this round because the necessary
placement data was not included in the STEP files. Tests were made after
the conference call and the issue has now been fixed. The two sets of
results were put into different files. This has also been fixed since
the conference call and a new file with both results and the correct
placements is now on the ftp site.

We discussed the next round of testing and agreed that in this round the
first 13 operations and all four pockets will be optimized.
Optimization 1 - WS1 to WS 13 (the initial Open Corner Passes, Rough Top
Pass and Profile Contouring)
Optimization 2 - WS 25 (Pocketing 15)
Optimization 3 - WS 26 (Pocketing 26)
Optimization 4 - WS 27 (Pocketing 27)
Optimization 5 - WS 28 (Pocketing 28)
The vendors may replace the initial sequence and the four pockets with
new plans as they think appropriate. The new starting data with improved
in-work solids is on the ftp site.

Before starting the task you must download the latest version of the
STEP-NC Explorer (v9.65) to ensure correct placements for the operations.

The Okuma machine at Boeing has been installed at its new location and
will be ready for use by the end of the month. KTH has received two
titanium blanks from Boeing and will also test the optimization results.
To expedite the machining, the cutting tool vendors are asked to send
tool lists to Boeing and KTH as soon as possible.
We discussed the workshop on in-process modeling to be held on Friday
February 13th as part of the OMAC meeting in Orlando, Florida. The
cutting tool vendors are requested to be at the meeting.
