We saw a demonstration of a STEP-NC Conformance Class 1 interface for
Siemens NX. The system was able to translate toolpaths, process data and
workplan structure data into a STEP-NC file that was then viewed using
the STEP-NC Explorer.

Siemens is making the new translator available for testing by NX customers.

We discussed the progress of the three translators and agreed that it
would be best to delay the face to face meeting until all three are able
to translate Conformance Class 2 data to STEP-NC because this will mean
that product models for the workpiece and tools are incorporated into
the data making them much easier to understand when the import
translators are written.

A second benefit of delaying the meeting is that it will allow more time
for CCAM to prepare to machine the three parts being prepared by
Sandvik, Boeing and the Army. The proposed new meeting date is June 24
and 25 at CCAM in Disputanta, Virginia.

We previously decided to machine the part using 7075-T73 Aluminum from a
rawpiece with dimensions of 85 x 85x 87.5 [mm].
