[step-manufacturing] Information on standardisation

Hi Thomas,
It is mostly participation as a visitor to guage potential commercial markets.  It may be an opportunity to promote FOFdation, which is why I sent the message to see if I should try and get Martin Hardwick to add something about FOFdation work to the presentation.  The presentation itself lasts from 13.30 to 15.30 on Thursday, September 13th.  Hardwick is trying to push STEP-NC (for him AP238) and wants to get tool vendors, machine tool vendors, control developers and cam developers interested in moving into using standards.  He plans to talk to Siemens, Dassault, Mastercam and other interested parties to get them involved in demonstrations.  Another interesting aspect is that Obama has agreed to spend one billion dollars on improving manufacturing efficiency over the next five years.  I see this as a potential business opportunity and, since I think the FOFdation developments are interesting for the advanced manufacturing in the proposal, I wanted to pass on information about the event.  I would certainly be interested in participating in future developments if he can set up something with Siemens, Dassault and Mastercam because I think that we can use it for dissemination purposes.

What participating are you referring to?
Participation in the ISO TC184/SC4 meeting or as a exhibitor or visitor
in the trade fair?
