[step-manufacturing] Test data for the CAM data exchange project

Hi Martin,

We would be interested in machining these parts on one of our machines as part of the demonstration..........

I might be able to get some funding to get a converter created for the Hurco, but it will be limited.......

Can we get them to include GD&T data on the part files?

Is there any 5 Axis demo part under consideration?   Would you like for us to look for one?   I  might be able to find something from USAF or GKN........

All,

The US Army has volunteered to help us enable CAM to CAM data exchange using STEP-NC by making test files. An image of the proposed first test file is shown below and the STEP data for the file can be found at the following URL:

ftp://ftp.steptools.com/private/CAM_exchange/mbd_assembly_unrestricted_asm.stp

They would like to know if we think this is a good file to begin the testing. If so then they will make CAM processes to machine the part in Mastercam and Esprit.
