Attendees
---------------
Alain Brail, Airbus
Jean-bernard Hentz, AIrbus
Fred Proctor, NIST
Bengt Olsson, Sandvik
Philippe Darnis, University of Bordeaux
Len Slovensky, SCRA
Chiaki Sakamoto, MER
Martin Hardwick, STEP Tools

The ibusuki5.238 file has been simulated by NIST, Sandvik and the
University of Bordeaux. There is an issue with the position of the
part. Sandvik estimates that the offset is wrong by 1mm in the X
direction and 2.68mm in the Y direction. This issue will NOT be
corrected before the machining and we will examine the results of the
measurements to determine if they contain the same errors.

The rough part has been sent to Sandvik and the University of
Bordeaux. The FEDEX web site indicates that the parts for Sandvik
were delivered on Monday at 5PM and that the parts for the University
of Bordeaux will be delivered early on Tuesday.

There was some discussion on the proper procedure for probing the
part when only one axis has been calibrated. STEP Tools has generated
two sets of AP-238 files. The first probes in only X or Y
(ibusuki5.238). The second probes in X and Y
(ibusuki5_probe_x_and_y.238). STEP Tools believes that the Heidenhain
probing macros may be able to compensate for two direction probing by
first rotating the table so that the probe is normal to the surface.

The three sites will machine the part this week.

The next conference call will be on Friday at the regular time (1PM
Europe, 7AM USA, 8PM Japan). Sandvik will host the call because they
have a conference number that can be used for local calling from any
country. Airbus will continue to provide the Webex site. Martin
Hardwick will be calling in from Japan.

Action Items
------------------
NIST, Sandvik and the University of Bordeaux to machine the part and
deliver avi or wmv files to STEP Tools.
All to consider the best strategies for measuring parts on a CNC.
STEP Tools to investigate algorithms to correct the position of the
workpiece in an AP-238 file.

The next conference call will be hosted by Airbus on Friday June 29th
at 8PM Japan, 1PM France, 7AM Eastern USA
