AP-238 Passes NWI / CD Ballot

The ballot results are in for the the STEP-NC integrated data model, 
also known as AP-238. Nearly all of the countries voted Yes on the 
ballot, and it will advance to Draft International Standard status 
once the ballot comments have been resolved.

The WebCast on STEP-NC hosted by the NIST Manufacturing Extension 
Program (MEP) on Wednesday October 16 generated a lot of interest and

STEP-NC contouring model for Glass Cutting and Wood Cutting

A STEP-NC model for wood cutting and glass cutting has been developed 
by SC1 and will be reviewed at the ISO meetings in Korea next week. We 
will be looking at the model to see if it can be extended to include 
metal plate cutting.

NY Governor visits STEP Tools for XML meeting

The recent STEP/XML meeting was very successful with good progress 
being made towards the development of Edition 2 of Part 28. By lucky 
coincidence the New York Governor and Leader of the State Senate 
happened to visit STEP Tools on the same day and we have some good 
pictures.

2. If you are a manufacturing engineer, download the ST-Plan plug-in 
   and begin to use STEP-NC for operation planning (you will need a 
   desktop version of this tool if you want to do professional level 
   planning). 
3. If you are a CNC machining engineer download an ST-Machine plug-in 
   to find out how to intelligently machine parts on or off a CNC
