Rhino Marine Announces STEP Translator

Rhino is the latest CAD vendor to announce the availability of a 
commercial STEP translator built with ST-Developer. Here is a list of

EXPRESS Short To Long Form Translation Service

A shortform-to-longform generator based on the specifications of 
the NIST reference implementation (shtolo) has just been added to 
our translation service

A shortform schema is an EXPRESS schema that refers to definitions 
in other schemas. A longform schema is an EXPRESS schema that does 
not contain any references to other schemas. In STEP the developers 
of a new AP create a short form and then use a shortform-to-longform 
generator to convert it into the longform schema preferred by AP 
implementors.

The new addition means the following EXPRESS services are now available 
on the Translation Service at http://www.steptools.com/translate:

* Compiler 
* Pretty Printer 
* Short name generator 
* Long name checker (checks for duplicates in other schemas) 
* Short to long form generator

All of the EXPRESS services reference the EXPRESS archive 
we maintain for SC4, so they are able to check your EXPRESS 
schemas against the latest versions of the STEP standards.
