Tools for STEP-NC
In San Francisco on Wednesday June 13 at the Cathedral Hill Hotel
STEP Tools will give its first public demonstration of two new tools
for STEP-NC. The first tool to be called ST-CAM converts STEP CAD
models into STEP-NC manufacturing models using feature recognition.
The second tool to be called ST-NC converts STEP-NC manufacturing
models into control codes for CNC.
This will be the first chance for those who are not members of the
STEP Tools Industrial Review board to see why STEP-NC can reduce the
time required to transfer CAD data to CAM by 75%, the time required
to create a CAM model by 35%, and the time required to machine parts
by 50%.

STEP-NC Meeting in San Francisco
The STEP-NC workshop in Frankfurt was very successful. All of the
major ballot comments on the Draft Standard for milling were resolved.
The new version of the milling standard will be reviewed at an SC4
meeting to be held at the Cathedral Hill hotel in San Francisco from
June 11 to 15.
