A second draft of the EXPRESS to HDF5 Mapping has been published. It is
available at

http://www.exff.org/express_binary/index.html

and any comments or issues are welcome. The draft is still technically
incomplete but is hopefully sufficient for initial test coding. I've been
doing early testing using the HDF5 C API with cygwin under Windows XP on my
laptop. So, you don't need any special hardware or Linux/Unix to join in our
testing.

Thanks to the HDF5 Group developers who have provided answers to many
questions in preparing this update to the specification. Work will continue
over the next several months with plans for some interested demonstrations
at the ISO STEP Meeting in Naples in March 2006.
