Hi Robert,

The digital world of engineering contains many digital threads.
Do those threads need identification?

In the world of people, a passport is the most expensive and
precious kind of identification, and a birthmark is the cheapest.
I watch a lot of crime shows and they usually start with a
birthmark on the murder victim.

Maybe a UUID is the birthmark, but there are often other
distinguishing attributes such as a serial number or a digital
passport. How do we find a thread when there has been a digital
murder?
