<p>All,</p>
<p>I am very sorry about the broken link today.</p>
<p>I tried running the call from home but it seems that a previously
reliable Internet provider is now blocking broadcasts by dropping
connections.</p>
<p>I think there was a lot of interest in the topic so I am inclined
to reschedule this call for the same time next week (one week
earlier than normal).</p>
<p>If you are interested let me know if you think this would be a
good or bad idea.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">1. Build Here, Build Now, Build Right
challenge for IMTS 2018 and JIMTOF 2018 (see
attachment).<br>

2. Inclusion of QIF in the work scope of WG15 - a
federated architecture for STEP-Manufacturing?</p>
<ul type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal"> STEP excels at product modeling
which requires a large investment and needs stability
to maintain the value of that investment.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal"> MTConnect excels at process
monitoring which requires real time, time-stamps and a
data model that is easy to process.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal"> QIF excels at reporting which
requires a rich, flexible data model that can explain
the reasons for a report.</li>
</ul>
<p class="MsoNormal">The proposal is to use MTConnect as a
"Part 28" for communicating model changes between STEP
and QIF, and thereby enabling CNC machines to make real
time corrections using reports from CMM machines.<br>
