Dear Everyone,
I found the presentation from Rick Murrish very interesting and have attached a few personal comments. I think that the data exchange aspects can be handled, but am a little concerned that the tools available may not be optimal. I think it would be better
to study the problems first to optimise the solutions before working on the data exchange aspects.

Is Rick Murrish's presentation available and public? If so, I would like to circulate it to SC1 participants for discussion.
Best regards,

All,
The conference call this week will feature a discussion on
manufacturing control for composite tape laying machines. Today these
machines are "stuck in the 1950's" because each machine has its own
custom CAM system and there is no possibility to share data or programs
between machines.
Rick Murrish, Boeing Associate Technical Fellow and Composite Design
focal point for Boeing will give us a background talk on Composite
design and data representation. We can then begin a discussion on how
to make composites manufacturing more efficient using STEP-NC
Martin Hardwick
Team Leader ISO STEP-Manufacturing
Professor and Acting Head of Computer Science, RPI
President STEP Tools, Inc.
