If you want to try using these tools then you need to load a copy of
the STEP-NC Explorer onto your machine (the latest is at
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.steptools.com/products/stepncmachine/download/">http://www.steptools.com/products/stepncmachine/download/</a>). You then
need to put these two files (DMG50.stp and DMG50.xml) into the
equivalent of the following directory on your PC.<br>

C:\Program Files (x86)\STEP Tools\STEP-NC Machine\machines<br>
<br>
If you are currently running the STEP-NC Explorer you will need to
restart before you can see the new machine in the list shown for the
"Motion" menu icon at the top of the screen. Here is an image of
what the screen should look like after the tool has been loaded (and
rotated).<br>

To see the machine tool kinematics you will need to load and run a
STEP-NC data set. There is a directory of test data at:<br>

Download one of these files into a directory. To load it pick the
menu selections file/open. You can then start an animation using the
play button below the file menu item. The first run through may be a
bit "jerky" if it is a file with many setups but the second one will
be smooth after all the models have been rendered. Here is an image
of the machine tool with the CDS part loaded and after the image has
been zoomed using the "+' icon.<br>

Many thanks once again to Mikael Hedlind and his team for making
this wonderful demonstration of manufacturing interoperability. As
you will see if you look at the top of the DMG50.stp file in a text
editor - "no STEP Tools software was used in the making of this
