Dear Mr. Rossi,

Thank you for your note and congratulations to Ian Stroud on becoming Wg7
Convenor. On behalf of T24 I would like to thank Prof. Suh for the hard
work he has done to finish the first edition of the STEP-NC standards and
to prepare for the second edition.

I am confident that SC4/Wg3/T24 will want to participate in the Sc1/Wg7
meeting in Bath. We would very much like to give joint demonstrations and
look forward to discussing how we can participate.

T24 will hold its regular conference call next Wednesday from 4:30PM to
5:30PM France time (3:30PM to 4:30PM UK time). We will be discussing the
results of the Sc1 meeting and I am hoping that some of you will be able
to join us for this call to answer any questions that T24 may have about
the meeting.

The call in number is toll free and so is the web site.

Thank you again for sharing the results of your meeting.

1. WG7 has an new convener: Ian Stroud
2. Prof. Suh is further on joining WG7 and will participate in 2nd
edition of ISO14649 and other projects

3. before WG7 starts the development of ISO14649-110 (machine tool data
model) the USE CASES for such a machine tool data model will be evaluated
(until December 2008). You are invited to participate (more details on

Subject: Brief results from Busan meeting (ISO TC184 SC1 WG7)

Dear All,

I would like just to give a comment, not about your disappointments
(being solved by a frank communication) but about technology
demonstrations.

The EC is not yet very aware of the strategical issue of STEP-NC, and the
last (negative) evaluation of our "NC4Famous" project has
demonstrated again the EC experts' ignorance on this topic. Moreover,
there is no link today between the FP7 R&D programmes and the ISO TC
and other standardization activities.

I would suggest to organise a next joint ISO meeting in Europe (why not
in "neutral" Switzerland e.g. and host of ISO) with
demonstrations of course. This event could be organised under the aegis
of MANUFUTURE-CH chaired by Georg Fisher (AGIE-CHARMILLES, and previous
STEP-NC partner). And we can (and must) invite the EC officers and
experts to the demonstrations

If you "think positive" with my proposal I would go ahead to
organize this next event with your support.

In the meantime, I wish you a good meeting at Busan

Best regards
