We discussed the digital thread demonstration to be given over the web
on March 1st.

Our digital thread consists of three standards: STEP, MTConnect and QIF.

The demonstration will feature on-machine measurement using a touch
probe. STEP will define what is going to be measured, MTConnect will be
used to report the touch probing results, and QIF will be used to report
how well the design tolerances have been met.

We will communicate the probing results from the CNC to the CMM by
testing an extension to MTConnect in which measurement results are
communicated by sending a UUID of the feature being measured with a set
of measurement points on that feature.

A recording of this call is in the archive at the following URL :

The next conference call will be held at the regular times on Wednesday
January 25th.
