The machining tests held at Renton on Saturday, to prove out the
optimized machining for Setup 1, were a success. The next tests will be
on this Saturday October 1st with the first task being to prove out the
optimized codes for Setup 2.
If there is time we will also machine the complete part using the latest
results of the NC Generation Service. The following configuration
choices will be set.
Deep milling tool does not have thru coolant, can manage 20mm depth of cut
Plunge drill has thru coolant and diameter of 0.72 inch
Cannot program peck drilling yet so plunge drill must be hand operated
Minor enhancements have been made to tolerances so STEP will send new
version to PSU before new program is generated
The demonstration rehearsal will begin on Tuesday afternoon at the
Museum of Flight.
The next conference call will be on November 2nd.
