Many apologies for the poor system performance during the conference
call. The STEP Tools, Inc web site is becoming saturated. We will
increase our bandwidth by off-loading content to a cloud server.
The press release is nearly ready for distribution with only final
approval by Sandvik pending.
The latest version STEP-NC Machine samples the Okuma control 10 times a
second during tracking instead of 2 times per second. We are developing
a new simplification algorithm that will speed up simulation by using
wider tolerances during roughing operations.
We discussed the organization of the data. The demonstration will focus
on showing the pocketing so we need to make it easier to reach the
corresponding STEP-NC information. STEP Tools will add new workplans
into the project for the roughing, finishing and drilling operations to
make this selection easier. STEP Tools will also improve the user
interface to make the selection of the appropriate in-process model for
machining easier. Sandvik will simplify its pocketing operations to use
fewer cutting tools.
The new data with the new features has been posted to the web site.
