The part is complete. The tool paths and process will not change but the
following enhancements were suggested to make optimization by the
cutting tool vendors easier.
Material description is missing
Add delta and as-is shape descriptions for each operation
Merge the sequence of small workingsteps at the start into one workingstep
Define the number of flutes on the cutting tools
Add bolt holes to the stock - currently they are only shown on the
finished part
Make the fixture model more representative of usual practice
Tolerances are missing
Give the operations descriptive names
Add a machine tool model for the 3-axis Okuma used to machine the part
We reviewed the proposed schedule for the Model Based Manufacturing
session at the MBE Summit to be held on December 10 and 11.

We reviewed the proposed consortium for Advanced Digital Machining. This
consortium will be planned in 2014 for a kickoff in 2015. The planning
phase will determine articles of governance, create a system
architecture for "simulation based" control, and roadmap the
distribution of model based machining technology across the supply chain.
