All,

I have some extremely very good news. Mikael Hedlind who has contributed
extensively to STEP-Manufacturing and STEP in general and who was a
principal organizer of the highly successful STEP meeting in Sweden last
year where we all got to drive trucks has successfully passed his Ph.D
thesis defense.

Therefore, although the usual bureaucratic caveat still apply (i.e. he
has to get sign offs from the University hierarchy) he is now Dr. Hedlind!

I am sure you will join me in wishing him many congratulations for this
well deserved, well earned recognition of his hard work and significant
contributions to science and engineering.

A copy of his abstract is posted to our web pages:
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/CAM_exchange/Hedlind_thesis_info.pdf

You can find the announcement of his thesis defense here:

PS. This e-mail gets distributed too widely for me to include Mikael's
address but I can forward messages.
