Subject: [step-manufacturing] Renton Conference Call #6 this Wednesday

All,

The sixth conference call for the Renton round of demonstrations is this Wednesday at the regular times.

The new closed loop schema is on the ftp site. The schema has been mapped into the AIM and the both the AIM and the XML used to map the ARM into the AIM are also on the ftp site.

ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Renton/Closed_loop/closedloop_map_20100906.xml

A change history has been added to end of the Closed_loop_schema document.
The new information has also been added to the STEP Tools resource page for AP-238 at:

http://www.steptools.com/library/stepnc/tech_resources/

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The proposed agenda for the conference call is as follows:

1. Review the changes made to the closed loop schema

Suggestions for further changes and enhancements to the schema.

2. Discussion of the differences between the first and subsequent compensations in the demonstration.

The first compensation occurs after the first machining at the end of the first setup. It defines the reference frame that is used in the subsequent compensations and it may be a mistake to call it a compensation. The subsequent compensations occur at the start of each setup and use the previously defined reference frame to align their coordinate systems before they execute the compensation and change a setup.

3. Enhancements to the fixture model.

In order to show the part moving when its setup is compensated we need show it placement moving in the fixture. For this to happen we believe the following changes need to be made to the AP-238 schema. Again suggestions and corrections are welcome.

a. Move fixture from executable to setup.
b. Add a single placement to fixture for machine tool mount
c. Add a set of named placements to fixture for workpiece mating points
d. Add a placement to each workpiece_setup for fixture mating point
