A new press release for the meeting is attached to these minutes.
Please send them to your press contacts.
The titanium blanks are ready. Sandvik will send one to Boeing and
the other to CCAT. The following address can be used for all material
being sent to CCAT.
ATTN: Brian Kindilien
Connecticut Center for Advanced Technologies, Inc.
222 Pitkin Street
Suite 106
East Hartford, Connecticut USA 06108
Ph: +1.860.282.4214
The cutting tools should be ready by the end of labor day weekend and
will also be sent to Boeing and CCAT.
A new version of the AP-238 Technical Corrigendum has been put onto
the ftp site. This version enhances the STEP-NC model for AS-IS,
TO-BE geometries so that they can contain dimensions and tolerances.

The requirements for curve probing were discussed and the new
strawman model is as follows:
ENTITY curve_probing SUBTYPE OF (touch_probing)
start_position : OPTIONAL axis2_placement_3d;
start_direction : OPTIONAL direction;
distance : OPTIONAL length_measure;
curve_to_be_measured : bounded_curve;
curve_axis : OPTIONAL bounded_curve
as_measured_curve : OPTIONAL bounded_curve;
as_measured_curve_normal : OPTIONAL bounded_curve;
its_technology : OPTIONAL technology
path_maximum_deviation : OPTIONAL bounded_curve;
END_ENTITY;
A video showing data preparation for the final inspection of the
impeller followed by the inspection using a scanning touch probe has
been prepared by Mitutoyo and is on the ftp site at:
ftp://ftp.steptools.com/private/CCAT/STEP-NC_Measurement_Path.avi.
The video shows the type of device that is now available for scanning
curves on machined parts. This is the type of device that will be
controlled using the new curve probing entity.
The next conference call will be on Wednesday September 3 ONE WEEK
EARLIER than usual because IMTS is in the following week.
