All,

The conference call is on Monday, January 7th at 4:30PM France,
10:30AM Eastern USA and 7:30AM Western USA. See below for the contact
information.

The primary agenda item is completing the invitation that needs to be
send to the SC4 community by January 10th. A directory with the
invitation, registration form and facilities/agenda description has
been put onto the ftp site at:
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/meeting_invitation/

After we have completed the agenda we can discuss the significant
progress made preparing the demonstration data during the Christmas
break. First an example of a speed/feed optimized STEP-NC file has
been made by Boeing. The before and after optimization data is on the
ftp site. A new STEP-NC Explorer that will display the optimized
feeds and speeds is also on the site

ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/feed_speed_optimization/Sweden_override_20081218_opt.238
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/feed_speed_optimization/Sweden_override_20081218.238
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/feed_speed_optimization/stepnc_4_6.msi

Please note that this is interim data and software. The optimizations
computed by Boeing used estimates for the machine parameters. The
values required are described in:
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/feed_speed_optimization/Machine_Cutter_Params.ppt.
We can discuss how to obtain these values and store them in the
AP-238 and ISO 13399 data during the conference call.

The second development has been the first usage of AP-230 Edition 2
files to define the part tolerances that must be met during and after
the machining . Two AP-203 edition 2 files have been tested. The
first was produced by KTH from AP-214 data. The second was made by
STEP Tools by exporting the fishhead to an AP-203 e2 file. The same
new STEP-NC Explorer can be used to read, write and display these
AP-203 e2 files.

ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/closed_loop_machining/Part1_toleranced.stp
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/closed_loop_machining/Fishhead_toleranced.stp
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Sweden/closed_loop_machining/stepnc_4_6.msi

If you want to import an AP-203 e2 file you must first start a new
project (or open an old one) so the complete menu sequence is
File/New followed by File/Import/Workpiece. If you want to export
AP-203 e2 data the sequence is File/Export/Workpiece. In the new
explorer there is a new display window tab for the tolerances called
Part Properties. It will list all the tolerance and surface parameter
properties defined for the part and highlight the faces affected by
each tolerance or surface parameter when clicked.
