Apologies for absence
--------------------------------
Shaw Feng, NIST
Xun Xu, New Zealand
Len Slovensky, SCRA
Curtis Brown, Honeywell Kansas City Plant

The following three test data sets are available on the ftp site at:
ftp://www.steptools.com/private/Dallas/2007103_data/

Dallas_Sandvik.238 -- made from Siemens UGS data
Dallas_NIST.238 -- made for Mastercam data
Dallas_NZ.238 -- made from Pro/Engineer data

The Sandvik data set is complete except for some small issues with
the inspection processing (see below) and any other issues that may
be discovered during the simulation testing. The NIST data set only
contains 3-axis tool paths and is in inch units. The New Zealand data
needs to be checked for possible translation issues because it is the
first to use the Pro/Engineer APT translator.

We reviewed the data and agreed that the unit for all of the data
sets should be millimeters. We also agreed that the hole should be
drilled to a depth of at least 5 millimeters below the bottom of the
part to allow space for proper measurement with the probe. Lastly we
agreed that the distances of the linear distance measurements should
be checked because they looked like they were given as inch values
instead of millimeters. A new set of slides has been posted to the
web site: FishHeadToleranceSuggestionsIssueC.ppt and the data in the
three AP-238 files has been adjusted to match these tolerances.

We agreed that a live machining demonstration is not going to be
possible at this meeting. Therefore, each participant will bring a
copy of the part to the meeting, make a video of the part being
machined and bring the inspection results so that they compared with
the results obtained by the other participants.

We reviewed and agreed to the schedule for the Dallas meeting. Fred
Proctor will send out a white paper on Adaptive control in order to
facilitate the discussion on feed and speed optimization. The HiPP
team will be responsible for the presentations on the inspection
feature and process model extensions. There was agreement that the
traceability model should be reviewed for inclusion in the second
edition of AP-238 but there should be industrial testing of the model
before the second edition is completed.
