Minutes of the AP-238 CC1 Testing Telcon on January 7th.
-------------------------------------------------------

AP-238 CC1 translators are available for the following
systems:

* CATIA (Boeing proprietary)
* Mastercam
* APT-CL (CATIA flavor)

AP-238 CC1 translators should be available for the following
systems by Jan 14th

* UGS NX CAM
* GibbsCAM
* APT-CL (Caterpillar flavor)

Part programs for the NAS 979 CDS Cone have been produced by the
following users for the following systems:

* Mastercam (NIST)
* CATIA (Boeing)
* UGS NX CAM (Pratt and Whitney)

Part programs will be made available by the following users for the
following systems by January 14th

* GibbsCAM (General Dynamics Land Systems)
* APT-CL (Caterpillar)

The meeting in Florida will be extended to include an extra day
(Friday February 4th) so that the technical decisions made and
the results achieved can be reviewed in depth and plans can be
made for the next demonstration.

Data volume issues were found in the Mastercam translator because
it translates arcs as well as lines. In the model used each
arc is put in its own toolpath which is expensive and against
the intent of the OMAC CC1 subset. STEP Tools will update the
translator to use composite curves.

GE Fanuc will deliver a Fanuc 30i configured for 5-axis AB Tool
Tilting in TCP mode to STEP next week. Siemens will deliver an
840D control in the week after. STEP will use these controls
to test the part programs produced by all the systems.

Action Items:
* GDLS to deliver a GibbsCAM model for the CDS part to STEP.
* Caterpillar to deliver an APT-CL file to STEP.
* Chen Han Lee to deliver NX CAM translator to Pratt and Whitney
* STEP to deliver corrected EXPRESS model for AP-238 to NIST
* STEP to deliver optimized AP-238 output for Mastercam to NIST
* NIST to update the scenario document
