Minutes of AP-238 CC1 Testing Telcon on 12/06/04
------------------------------------------------

Siemens has agreed to participate in the demonstration and
will make an 840D with TCP programming available for the
February 3rd OMAC meeting in Florida.

Participation by the following is firm

* CNC Vendors: GE Fanuc, Siemens
* CAM Vendors: Unigraphics, GibbsCAM, Mastercam
* End Users: Boeing, General Dynamics Land Systems, Caterpillar

Participation by the following is being evaluated:

* CAM Vendors: Pro/Engineer, CATIA
* End Users: Pratt and Whitney, Rolls Royce

Vendors who wish to participate should commit by December 17th (next
telcon) in order to meet the deadlines shown on the project plan
(see NIST web site http://www.isd.mel.nist.gov/projects/stepnc/).

There is a longer window for commitment by the end users. As per the
project plan they are required to make a model of the NAS 979 CDS Cone
part using one of the supported CAM systems and save the result as
an AP-238 CC1 file so that it can be simulated on the controls at the
meeting.

We need to increase participation by the Automotive industry. Carol
Tierney accepted the action item to contact leading members of this
community.

Action Items:

* Sid Venkatesh and Maruo Costas to prepare a meeting invitation
for broadcast on the e-mail exploders
