ST-Repository for NC
A demonstration web site showing how ST-Repository can manage the
distribution of STEP-NC data to machine tools has been established at:
http://www.stepnc.com
The database contains AP-238 (STEP-NC) data computed from AP-203
(STEP-CAD) data using ST-CAM - a feature recognition process planning
tool developed by Honeywell.
The web site delivers the data to an Internet Explorer browser using a
mix of XML for control information and Part 21 for the geometry. The
web site begins with a product catalog showing all the parts for which
NC data is available. When a part is picked, a browser shows the
manufacturing features in one window and the machining working steps
in another. Picking a working step causes the corresponding feature to
be highlighted. Other tabs in the browser show the tool requirements
of the working step and a more detailed listing of the operation.
Currently the web site delivers NC information for a subset of the
features in AP-224 and AP-238. Over the next six months it will to
deliver data for all of the milling features in AP-224 and AP-238, and
over the next year it will be further updated to deliver data for the
Turning features.

ST-Viewer 4.0
ST-Viewer is a cost-effective tool for viewing, analyzing and
debugging STEP product data. The new version introduces strategic
enhancements including a STEP data analyzer, dimensioning
capabilities, and multiple application support.
ST-Viewer can view data for mechanical CAD (AP-203), engineering
analysis (AP-209), automotive design (AP-214), machining (AP-224),
circuit board (AP-210) and process plant (AP-227). ST-Viewer is an
easy-to-use interface to STEP data information and displays product
identification, assembly structures and 3D geometry.
The ST-Viewer includes an OLE/COM programming interface and is being
used by in the automotive, aerospace and shipbuilding industries to
implement solutions for assembly management, shipbuilding design and
NC programming.
