Translator Service exceeds 10,000

The STEP Tools translation service crossed the 10,000 mark last
week with just two errors both in advanced visualization. The free
service can be used for the following kinds of translations:

AP-203/214 <-> ACIS is the solid modeling kernel used by CADKEY,
SolidEdge, Alibre, and some versions of AUTOCAD.

AP-203/214 <--> Parasolid is the soid modeling kernel used by
Unigraphics and Solid/Works.

AP-203/214 ---> Visualization generates GIF, JPEG and VRML files
to help you view the contents of a STEP model.

AP-203 ---> Checker for conformance to the data rules defined by
STEP for configuration controlled designs.

AP-203 ---> XML generates data that conforms to an early version
of the Part 28 specification (soon to be updated).

Cutting Edge ST-Viewer for AP-227 (available) and AP-210 (planned)

The ST-Viewer is a late bound application that can display solid
model geometry in STEP files whenever that geometry belongs to a
validly defined product. Therefore, in its default configuration
it can display the geometry of almost any Application Protocol that
makes proper use of the AIM.

However, this approach can produce simplistic results when the
Application Protocol has product structure information that is more
complex than that used in AP-203. For example, the default viewer may
not apply the right transforms to an AP-227 product. To fix this we
have built an advanced viewer that understands more about the AP-227
structure and consequently does a better job of transforming product
geometries to the right locations.

A similar viewer enhancement is planned for AP-210 product data and
will be announced on this list when it is ready.

EXPRESS Compiler Fixes

A new patch for the ST-Developer v8 EXPRESS compiler is now available
on our web site.  This patch corrects several reported issues with the
C++ class generation.  In particular, this corrects the following four
issue numbers:

    #5242: C++ gen with -schema does not emit keystone ext types
    #5253: select elems not capitalized with -names sdai
    #5254: prim types not recognized in working set
    #5255: guard ifdefs missing from cxx files

The patched compiler can be called with the -version option, and will
return a value of "8.0.1".   The patch is available for all platforms.
