STEP-NC Testing by Honeywell

Honeywell are going to test Part 51 of STEP-NC (the integrated
STEP model) using their FBMach software. FBMach is a leading
edge process planning system that recognises manufacturing features
and allows manufacturing working steps to be defined for those
features.

FBMach is written as an ACIS application and several CAD and
CAM vendors are planning to use it as a kernel in their future
systems.

Working with Honeywell will allow us to test Part 51 of STEP-NC
for "practicality" while we work with the AP-214 and AP-224 developers
to ensure harmonization.

CIM Steel Workshop

Blair Downie of STEP Tools will be in London from April 4-7th to
give a tutorial for the CIM Steel workshop. The CIM Steel initiative
has developed a data exchange standard for steel structures using
EXPRESS.

The following customers are using ST-Developer to write translators
for the CIM Steel models.

    Company Application

    Design Data SDS/2
Bentley Systems Structural for TriForma 3D
    RAM International RAM Steel

STEP and EXPRESS Modeling Classes at Chrysler

STEP Tools will be giving a three day class at the Chrysler Technical
Center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The goal of
the class will be to make Chrysler personnel familiar with the basic
organization of the STEP standard and its EXPRESS models and to show
them tools that can be used to manage STEP data.
